Le Groupe de Jeunes d'Oron

The "Eglise évangélique d'Oron" has a thriving youth group that meets every Friday night to sing worship songs, socialize, and hear messages. There are often speakers that come from the United States or other English-speaking countries, in which case I get the message in both English and French!
I am learning to sing their worship songs, and am enjoying singing along to CD's in French as I clean my room, or rocking out with my headphones as I ride the bus to school. They are so filled with delight and energy! My favorite album is Scriptura by Impact. I am learning many new words this way (which is impressive to the other exchange students who don't have a church vocabulary), and working a little bit on my accent. When I feel particularly rebellious, I amuse myself by singing the lyrics in English to a song I know from Flatirons church as everyone else sings the French translation they use here. "Ton/your amour/love demeure/never fails!"
I have been so welcomed in their community, and am blessed to have become so integrated into their midst that we can sing, laugh, and worship together. Thank you!!!
