The art exposition was held throughout the village of Rue in homes, basements, restaurants, and even the castle! This is the castle where my host father's grandmother worked as groundskeeper.
He grew up here!
(see if you can find the cat staircase below... :))
The Art
Do you see the two paintings above of the same landscape done traditionally and with a modern touch? So cool! This girl also presented a lot of awesome manga!
One of my favorite artists showed (along side many other fabulous paintings) a series of gorgeous vacation notebooks that he had filled with watercolor paintings. So inspiring! He said the best part was that people in America would stop and talk to him while he painting, creating connections...and an American even stopped to talk to him in Switzerland! I should email and ask about his materials.
Above are the business cards of some of the artists I talked to!
Here are some of their virtual galleries:

One of the more abstract artists set up a table at her exposition with paper, colored wax, and irons so people could make their own art, and to show the basis of her process!
You see above I tried my hand at it!
I miss you Pixel!!!!
Monday
The next day at school we started painting in art class!
Coincidence?
I did not have time to finish, but I still think it turned out pretty cool!
I can't wait to get back home to my watercolor paints. July 20th!
